Prime Therapeutics earns top score on Corporate Equality Index

Prime Therapeutics (Prime) is proud to highlight its score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s (HRCF) 2025 Corporate Equality Index® (CEI). This is the highest score attainable, earning Prime a designation as one of the best places to work for LGBTQ+ equality. 

“We want to create an inclusive workplace for our employees and know that actions speak louder than words,” said Erin Feigal, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. “It’s an honor to earn a score of 100 on the CEI. It’s also affirmation that we’re doing the right things and creating a welcoming environment for all employees to thrive.” 

“When employees feel a sense of belonging, they tend to be more engaged,” added Zabrina Watkins, diversity, equity and inclusion director. “Inclusive policies and practices are not only the right thing to do, they also contribute to company success and invested employees.”  

The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars:  

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities 
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families  
  • Supporting an inclusive culture 
  • Corporate social responsibility 

Among the specific initiatives and policies that earned Prime a score of 100 are: 

  • Employment non-discrimination policy, which Prime updated to include the terms “sexual orientation” and “gender identity or expression,” making the language more inclusive. 
  • Family formation benefits, which include adoption assistance, infertility coverage and paid family leave for LGBTQ+ employees. 
  • Transgender-inclusive health benefits, which include mental health benefits, pharmaceutical coverage, coverage for medical visits and procedures and short-term medical leave. 
  • Internal training and accountability to diversity and cultural competency, such as inclusive new hire training, supervisor training and company-wide opportunities like inclusive language training and panels. 
  • Transgender-inclusive best practices, which include Prime’s revised gender transition guidelines that highlight supportive restrooms, dress code documentation information and guidance for navigating an employee’s transition. 
  • Prime Pride employee resource group (ERG), which is a resource for the entire organization and creates a community for all. 
  • Targeted LGBTQ+ recruitment efforts
  • Philanthropic support of Out Youth Austin and The Trevor Project, two LGBTQ+ organizations, through Prime’s employee-run foundation, the Prime Together Foundation

Prime is among 765 U.S. businesses honored with HRCF’s Equality 100 Award as Leaders in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion. This year’s CEI includes 1,449 businesses — the highest number of rated companies since the start of the CEI in 2002.
