Prime Therapeutics supports nonprofit’s efforts to empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest
A grant from the Prime Together Foundation, a 501c(3) organization created by Prime employees, supports Minnesota-based Hammer & NER’s Quality of Life Fund
Living a full life looks different for everyone, but it always involves going beyond basic survival needs. It can be one’s hobbies, experiences and connection to others that make life feel whole.
That’s why Hammer & NER created its Quality of Life Fund — which provides essentials and other life-enriching experiences for people with intellectual and other disabilities — and why support from partners like the Prime Together Foundation matters.
The Prime Together Foundation was created in 2020 by employees of Prime Therapeutics (Prime) to support nonprofits whose missions make a difference in local communities. Hammer & NER is among 22 organizations to receive a 2025 and also received a 2024 grant.
A passion for personal impact
Hammer & NER has supported Matt Beckman since 2000, providing him with personalized care, assistance with daily living and housing support. And beyond that, it’s the organization’s annual fishing trip each June that he really looks forward to. The Quality of Life Fund helps make this experience possible, giving Matt the chance to fish, go on the pontoon boat, spend time with friends and soak in the beauty of Gull Lake.
“All the opportunities that are available — fishing trips, activities— it gets Matt out of the house,” said Matt’s dad, Jim Beckman. “Otherwise, sometimes people with special needs can be isolated at times.”
Matt and his family are grateful for the support he receives and for the funding that makes this trip possible. They shared that it helps him, and many others supported by Hammer & NER, enjoy the moments that make life special.
“The number of requests we receive each year through Quality of Life to go on the fishing trip has consistently grown,” said Nate Reed, fundraising manager at Hammer & NER. “We see that need and we’re able to fill that need thanks to groups like the Prime Together Foundation.”
